TWD – Chocolate Pudding

Finally!  I got something done on time! Amazing!

I’ll admit – when I first saw the recipe for this week, I thought it was just a whole lot of work that Jello had just made a whole lot easier for us.  And while I still think Jello pudding mixes have their purpose, now that I’ve had pudding from scratch, WOW.  I have a whole new appreciation for pudding!  Along the way, I thought it was all going to end up in the trash.  It did NOT look good when moving it from the stove to the blender on the final run… but the blender made it all better!  It tasted wonderful – a lot different than instant pudding – it wasn’t really sweet, but more rich than normal…

The recipe was chosen by Melissa of It’s Melissa’s Kitchen – check out her blog for the recipe!

I found that the pudding was definitely the most challenging thing to photograph so far.  Because it sat in the ramekins, when topped with coolwhip, you couldn’t see the pudding, so I had to dig in and get some cross-sections.  Dang the luck!

  7. The chocolate pudding is rich, isn’t it? I think the flavor can defintiely be changed according to the type of chocolate used but will always be good enough for entertaining. Your pudding looks delicious! =D

  9. Whipped cream and chocolate chips…one of the few combos that could make this pudding better than it already is.

  17. It is a different breed than Jello for sure. I’m betting it would make a *sensational* chocolate cream pie!

  18. Hahaha! I’ve never thought about the difficulties of photographing pudding. You’re right though. Those food stylists have a tough job when they get the pudding contract. Looks yummy though!

  19. guess you need to get some clear ramekins to serve pudding and jello in, huh? that would make the pics a bit easier…

ohhh imagine the personal size quiche you could do with layers, too… sigh…

    7 layer dips…

the list could go on and on…

    I’m starved…

    can you tell???

and pictures of food… I never woulda thunk it… who knew there were more things to photograph than pups and music… 😉
